Today the domestic stock market closed on the green mark with a slight gain. In the first trading session of the week, the BSE Sensex rose 291.17 points (0.38%) to close at 77,094.07, while the NSE Nifty 50 index rose 89.80 points (0.37%) to close at 24,102.90. The special thing is that during the session, Sensex had reached the highest level of 77,325.56 and Nifty had reached the level of 24,168.05; However, both the major indices could not sustain these levels and gave up early gains.
**Fall in Asian Paints shares**
On Monday, shares of 17 out of 30 Sensex companies closed on the green mark, while shares of the remaining 13 companies closed on the red mark. Similarly, out of Nifty 50 companies, shares of 27 companies closed with gains, while shares of the remaining 23 companies closed with losses. Among the Sensex stocks, IT company Tech Mahindra was the biggest gainer and closed up 1.87%, while Asian Paints was the biggest loser and fell 2.15%.
**Growth in many stocks including Sun Pharma and Reliance**
Other Sensex stocks that closed in the green today included Sun Pharma (1.87%), Reliance Industries (1.31%), Infosys (1.29%), BEL (1.01%), Bajaj Finserv (0.89%), HDFC Bank (0.79%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.63%), Bajaj Finance (0.60%), SBI (0.57%), Bharti Airtel (0.41%), ICICI Bank (0.36%), Maruti Suzuki (0.15%), Axis Bank (0.12%), UltraTech Cement (0.11%), TCS (0.04%) and Tata Steel (0.03%).
**Shares of these companies closed with a decline**
On the other hand, on Monday, shares of Titan (1.11%), Power Grid (0.87%), Trent (0.78%), ITC (0.75%), Eternal (0.53%), Hindustan Unilever (0.49%), Adani Ports (0.35%), L&T (0.28%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.18%), HCL Tech (0.16%), Indigo (0.08%) and NTPC (0.07%) fell. closed with a decline.
