Participating the cleanliness drive on Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that no incident of damage to property in the national capital will be tolerated. The Chief Minister asked political activists to avoid pasting posters with their pictures at any place.
Gupta removed the posters from a flyover pillar on the ring road under “Seva Pakhwada” to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and participated in the cleanliness drive in his Shalimar Bagh constituency. He warned, “It is a very major crime to damage the property by writing and pasting posters on the walls and the city is dirty. I especially urge politicians not to tolerate any attempt to harm the property. Do not dare to stick my picture posters.
The Chief Minister emphasized that cleanliness is not only an hour’s job, but it should be a daily effort that should have participation of every section of the society, including RWA, public representatives and common citizens. He said that the cleanliness campaign will continue.
Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Pravesh Verma also participated in the cleanliness drive, whose main center was Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) in Delhi.
Under Seva Pakhwada programs, PWD has divided the 55 km long ring road into eight jurisdiction blocks and has appointed an engineer for each section for each section to oversee cleaning and repair work until the next fortnight. Verma told reporters, “It is our resolve to keep Delhi clean and cleanliness campaign is being carried out in the entire region, which is involved in many party workers.”
