New Delhi, July 23 (IANS). Connaught Place ACP Vivek Bhagat, injured in the CJP protest near Jantar Mantar, was brought to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital for treatment. According to the medical update released by the hospital, ACP Bhagat has suffered injuries in many parts of his body. After first aid, he desired to undergo further treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi, after which he was discharged on request after completion of necessary medical tests.
According to RML Hospital, during the investigation, several injury marks were found on the shoulders and both hands and legs of ACP Vivek Bhagat. Along with this, swelling was also found in the parieto-occipital part at the back of his head. He told the doctors that after the incident there was bleeding from the ears and he had also vomited.
The hospital said that ACP Bhagat was examined by the medical team of the surgery department and provided necessary treatment. After the medical examination was completed, he decided to get further treatment at AIIMS as per his wish. After this the hospital discharged him on request.
Delhi Police has claimed that more than 118 policemen and 60 protesters have been injured in the protest near Jantar Mantar. According to police, more than 20 police vehicles were also damaged in stone pelting and violence by protesters during the incident.
After the incident, security arrangements have been tightened in the entire area. Police have registered FIRs in different police stations regarding this matter. The injured policemen and protesters are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. CJP’s protest is still continuing and they are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
