Navratri is considered to have special significance in Hindu religion. While Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri are widely celebrated, Gupta Navratri of Ashadha month is considered extremely important for Tantric Sadhana, Shakti worship and special rituals. In the year 2026, Gupt Navratri will start from 15th July and continue till 23rd July. In this festival which lasts for nine days, along with the nine forms of Maa Durga, the practice of ten Mahavidyas is also given special importance.
It is believed that by worshiping and worshiping as per the rituals during Gupt Navratri, the seeker gets the blessings of special spiritual power, success and fulfillment of wishes.
Ghatasthapana of Gupt Navratri 2026
Kalash Sthapana or Ghatasthapana is done during the auspicious time on the first day of Navratri. This is considered to be the most important ritual of Navratri worship. Devotees install the Kalash at auspicious time and invoke Goddess Durga and perform regular worship for nine days.

Importance of Gupt Navratri
Gupt Navratri is considered especially important for seekers, Tantra-Mantra worshipers and Shakti worshippers. During this time, along with the nine forms of Maa Durga, ten Mahavidyas—Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Chhinnamasta, Tripura Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Baglamukhi, Matangi and Kamala—are worshipped.
According to religious beliefs, by practicing these Mahavidyas, the seeker attains spiritual progress, knowledge, self-confidence and special achievements. This is the reason why Gupt Navratri is considered a more mysterious and meditation oriented festival than normal Navratri.

On the first day of Gupt Navratri, take bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Purify the place of worship and install the Kalash there. Place coconut and mango leaves on the Kalash and invoke Goddess Durga. After this, light the lamp and recite Durga Saptashati, Devi Kavach, Argala Stotra or Devi Mantras.
By worshiping Maa Durga regularly for nine days, chanting mantras and aarti, one gets special virtuous results. Many devotees also observe fast during this period and consume satvik food.
