The Congress once again surrounded Prime Minister Narendra Mor for his friendship with US President Donald Trump. In fact, the Congress told PM Modi about Trump’s recent comments and actions that friend did not remain a friend.
Congress’s communication in -charge General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a post on his X, “Take a look at what President Trump has done so far from mid -May 2025 – 1. He has claimed 45 times in four different countries, including the United Nations, 45 times claimed that the credit for getting a ceasefire between India and Pakistan goes to him, due to which the operation was suddenly stopped.”
He further wrote, “The second thing is that he called Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at an unexpected lunch at the White House – the same person who had a Pahalgam terrorist attack on the backdrop of inflammatory and communal statements. He talked about further strengthening the US -Pakistan economic partnership.”
Jairam Ramesh wrote, “According to some reports, he has cleared the strategic mutual defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He imposed punitive tariffs on the exports being done by India to the US and disrupted the H1B visa system. He targeted and punished India over India’s long economic relations with Russia.”
The Congress leader wrote, “According to reports, he has a meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir and Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif in the White House today. What happened to Namaste Trump? What happened to Houda Modi?
Earlier, in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Patna, the Congress on Wednesday claimed that India’s foreign policy had collapsed due to the government.
The meeting was chaired by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and others including former party president Rahul Gandhi, Treasurer Ajay Maken, General Secretary KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh and Sachin Pilot and Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar attended others.
The proposal states, “Since independence, all governments have strict security of our country’s strategic autonomy, which is now being ruined, as the government is swinging between to please America without thinking and bending towards China.”
The Congress alleged that US President Trump is constantly claiming that he used the US as a handwell to bargains to forced India to stop Operation Sindoor in May 2025. The Modi government has refused to address this claim honestly.
The CWC’s proposal states, “Despite the bargaining, Trump announced a huge tariff on Indian exports to the US – causing havoc on major industries providing employment to millions of workers.”
At the same time, Kharge targeted Modi and said that the friends who tell them ‘my friends’ are putting India in ‘many troubles’ today. His remarks came after Trump’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, stating that China and India continue to buy Russian oil and remain the “primary funding” of Ukraine War.
Significantly, the Trump administration has imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on New Delhi as a penalty for the purchase of Russian oil, causing 50 percent of the total fees levied by the US on India, which is the highest in the world.
India described these fees as “inappropriate” and “irrational”. He has said that like any major economy, it will take all the necessary steps to protect his national interests and economic security. In addition, the Trump administration announced a lump sum of US $ 1,00,000 on H-1B visas last week.
