Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge fiercely targeted Bihar’s NDA government and blamed him for the state’s backward economy. He also said that Bihar elections will begin the end of the end of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s corrupt rule.

He said, “The BJP formed the NDA government in Bihar in January 2024 by re -supporting Nitish Kumar. The government promised development, but Bihar’s economy is lagging behind. No special package was found from the Center and the claim of double engine proved to be hollow.”
He added, “The unemployment rate in Bihar is more than 15%. Millions of youth migrate every year. Due to the recruitment scams, the youth protest on the streets and protest the police sticks. The condition of farmers in Bihar is probably the worst in the country. Floods of Kosi and Gandak rivers damage millions every year. This flood management is a complete failure of the government every year.”
The Congress President alleged that the Prime Minister had promised several times to revive the sugar industry of Bihar. But even after ten years, his promise is incomplete. He alleged that the BJP has now started to understand Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as a burden.
He said, “The internal discord within the NDA alliance has now come out openly. The BJP has mentally retired Nitish Kumar. The BJP now considers him a burden.”
The Congress President said that 80 percent of Bihar’s population is of OBC, EBC and SC/ST category.
He said, “The Janata wants transparency in caste census and reservation policies. The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi have pressurized the central government to conduct caste census. Caste survey was also conducted in Bihar during the tenure of the Congress -led Grand Alliance government.”
He further said, “I want to ask the Prime Minister why he did not have to provide constitutional protection to 65% reservation passed by the government for the people of Bihar? History is a witness that the Congress government had given constitutional protection to 69% reservation for the people of Tamil Nadu thirty years ago. The government with double engine has failed to achieve it here.”
The Congress president also criticized the recent step of the Uttar Pradesh government for banning the police records and caste -based mentions in public places.
Kharge said, “The most strange thing was said by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who considers himself the successor of the Prime Minister. He had earlier written an article in protest against reservation. Now he has banned the rallies in the name of castes. Will the Prime Minister tell the country that on one hand we are all talking about conducting caste census and on the other hand your Chief Minister is talking about putting them in jail, who are going to jail for their resistance and harassment Are you right?
The Congress president alleged that the Bihar government and administration are inactive for a long time. He said, “There are daily robbery and murders. The crime rate is continuously increasing. There is a huge shortage of teachers in schools. The government health system is completely collapsed and there is a huge shortage of medicines in hospitals. In the event of illness, mango Bihari is either a victim of exploitation in private hospitals or is forced to go out of Bihar for treatment.”
Kharge said, “Our problems at the international level are the result of the diplomatic failure of Narendra Modi and his government. The Prime Minister is putting India in many difficulties today, when our voter list is being officially tampered with, then it is necessary that we should organize our extended CWC meeting in Bihar and the democracy of this country. Kharge said that today serious questions are being raised on the fairness and transparency of the Election Commission. He said, “Following the example of Bihar, now a conspiracy is being hatched to remove the votes of millions of people across the country. Vote theft means the theft of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, extremely backward classes, minorities, weak and poor ration, pension, medicine, scholarship and examination fee of the poor.”
He praised Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’. After this, Kharge said, “Our country is struggling with many problems. These problems include economic recession, unemployment, social polarization and targeting and weakening of autonomous constitutional institutions. The promise of 2 crore jobs is incomplete. Young are wandering without unemployment. Demonetisation and flawed GST has launched the economy after eight years after eight years. The same reforms have been introduced in GST whose Congress party was demanding from day one. “
Kharge said, “The 2025 assembly election will prove to be a milestone not only for Bihar but for the whole country. This will be the beginning of the opposite and end of the Modi government’s corrupt regime.”
Top Congress leaders held a meeting in Patna on Wednesday. This was the first party meeting of the party in Bihar after independence, in which the assembly election strategy was discussed and the attack on the BJP over the alleged “vote theft” was intensified.
This is an extended CWC meeting, in which permanent and special invited members, the Chief Minister of the party, Chairman of the State Congress Committee and leaders of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) participate. Before the meeting, Kharge hoisted the party’s flag at the state headquarters of the Congress here.
The meeting was attended by top Congress leaders including Kharge, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, Treasurer Ajay Maken, General Secretary KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh and Sachin Pilot, Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar. Assembly elections in the state are likely to be held in November.
