Fast food and instant noodles are becoming the first choice of people in today’s high speed life. Especially ramen noodles are preferred worldwide due to quick ripening and taste. But a recent study in Japan has expressed concern that eating more ramen can prove to be dangerous for health and it can also shorten lifetime.

Where and how the study was done?

This study was conducted on about 6,500 people in Yamagata province of Japan. Researchers asked the participants how many times they eat ramen –

Less than once a month,

1 to 3 times a month,

1-2 times a week,

Or more than 3 times a week.

He was then tracked for about four and a half years and it was observed what he had in lifestyle, food and mortality.

What are the results?

The study found that those who ate the ramen three or more times a week, the risk of death was more than those who ate it very little. This effect was especially seen in more than 70 years of age.

Researchers also found that the risk of ramen’s soup increases further risks. The reason for this is that noodles soup is usually rich in salt (sodium).

And what causes the risk increased?

Excessive salt: The salt present in the ramen can increase blood pressure, which increases the risk of heart diseases and stroke.

Other health habits: The study also revealed that the ramen is mostly eaten by men and often those who eat more alcohol, smoke or are suffering from diseases like obesity, diabetes and blood pressure at first. The risk of death was found in such people.

Is this study sure evidence?

Researchers also clarified that it is an observational study. That is, it cannot be concluded that only the ramen is the cause of death. Rather it can be said that other factors are also present in those eaters who spoil their health.

In addition, this research is based on the Japanese population, where the taste of the ramen, the method of making and the brands may be different from other countries. Therefore, this result is not necessary to apply to every part of the world.

What to do and how to avoid?

Eat restraint-Eat the ramen occasionally, do not make it a daily diet.

Drink less soup – Avoid drinking the soup given with noodles completely, because the amount of salt is the highest in it.

Adopt a balanced lifestyle – do regular exercise, distance from smoking and alcohol, include green vegetables and fruit diet.

People with diseases should be cautious – People who have already have blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes, should eat rare ramen.
