New Delhi, 29 September (IANS). Union Rail and Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Monday that electronics manufacturing in India is expanding rapidly and new suppliers and design capabilities are coming out every week.
He said that this sector mainly runs from small and medium enterprises.
Union Minister Vaishnav said on the social media platform X, “Electronics manufacturing ecosystem is expanding. Every week new suppliers, most small and medium enterprises are emerging.”
He further wrote, new design and manufacturing processes are constantly developing. Electronics Manufacturing sector will become one of the major areas of employment in India over the next few years. “
This month, Union Minister Vaishnav inaugurated the new office of semiconductor design, ARM in Bengaluru. On this occasion, he said that the most advanced chips of 2 nanometer used in AI server, drone and mobile phones will be designed from this unit.
With a significant achievement in India’s semiconductor journey, the Union Minister said that our aim is to design and build the appliances and materials required for them as well as them.
He stressed that the youth and talented engineers of the country will get the best opportunities around the world with the next 20 years of vision in the semiconductor area.
Giving information, Union Minister Vaishnav said that the demand for semiconductor chips is doubling due to progress in electronics manufacturing.
Talking about India’s achievements, he said that in the last 11 years, there has been a six -fold increase in electronics manufacturing in the country. Currently it is an industry of Rs 11.5 lakh crore. At the same time, exports have recorded eight -fold increase and electronics are becoming major export products for India.
Union Minister Vaishnav said that this journey started from the assembly of mobile phones and laptops, now moving towards the production of their models, components and finished materials.
