Bihar Election 2025: The political mercury is hot for the Bihar assembly elections. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has started finalizing its preparations. In this connection, on Saturday, on Saturday, the Election Commission called an important meeting with all recognized political parties at a hotel in Patna, the capital of Bihar. The biggest news in this meeting was revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly demanded the Election Commission to get voting in the whole of Bihar in only two phases.
After this important meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, it is now almost certain that the Election Commission can officially announce the dates of Bihar assembly elections within a week. All the parties are now eyeing Delhi.
BJP’s demand: ‘Why only two phases?’
BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal made several arguments before the Election Commission in the meeting. His most prominent demand was that the election should be completed in a maximum of two phases. Explaining the reason behind this, he said that the voters have unnecessary problems due to the high phase. In addition, he made another important argument that elections in more stages lead to unnecessary increase in the expenses of candidates. The BJP also demanded that the Election Commission vote was done 28 days after the announcement of the election, so that all parties could get enough time to campaign.
Dilip Jaiswal said, “We have demanded the Election Commission in this meeting that the election be completed in two phases. Along with this, we have asked to ensure that the voter slip reaches the voter in time.”
Security of over backward class and deployment of paramilitary force
The BJP has also placed an important demand before the Election Commission regarding security arrangements. He has said that paramilitary forces should be deployed in sensitive villages with the most backward society during elections, so that peaceful and fair voting can be ensured there and there is no possibility of any kind of violence or pressure. This demand makes it clear how seriously the BJP is taking caste equations and security aspects.
Who were involved in the meeting?
Representatives of almost all major political parties of Bihar attended this important meeting of the Election Commission. JDU Executive President Sanjay Jha, BJP from BJP Dilip Jaiswal, Congress from Congress Rajesh Ram and Shakeel Ahmed Khan spoke. At the same time, MPs Abhay Kushwaha and Chittaranjan Gagan from RJD, while Shankar Mahato from BSP also attended the meeting. All parties gave their suggestions to hold peaceful, fair and timed elections.
Mathematics of last election
If we look at the feet of the assembly elections held in Bihar last time, the demand for two phases of BJP may seem challenging.
1. 2020 Assembly Elections: These elections were held in 3 phases.
2. 2015 Assembly Elections: These elections were completed in 5 stages.
