Ayodhya: In view of the possibility of a large number of devotees reaching Ayodhya during the Sawan Jhula Mela and Kanwar Yatra, preparations are being made to change the security and darshan arrangements of Ram Temple. According to administrative sources, several new arrangements have been proposed to control the crowd and ensure the safety of the devotees.
Entry without pass may be banned on these dates
According to administrative sources, between August 8 to 11 and August 23 to 28, there may be a ban on entry of common devotees into the temple premises without a pass.
If the crowd grows excessively, darshan at the six sub-temples located in the park complex may also be stopped temporarily. Besides, keeping in view the convenience of the devotees, the option of extending the time for darshan of Ramlala has also been kept open.
Estimated arrival of 10 to 15 lakh devotees
The administration estimates that 10 to 15 lakh devotees may reach Ayodhya during the Sawan festival. At the same time, even on normal days in the month of August, a possibility of 2 to 3 lakh devotees coming for darshan has been expressed.
According to sources, the highest crowd of Kanwariyas is expected on the second Monday of Sawan (August 10).
Only pass holders will be allowed to enter some areas
Under the proposed arrangement, only pass holders will be allowed to enter Sapta Mandapam and Kuber Navratna Tila.
As per the current arrangement, 1,500 passes are issued in slots of two hours each. These passes are made available online through the official website of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
CCTV, additional police force and facility centers will increase
Ayodhya Nagar Police Officer Ashutosh Tiwari said that in view of the Sawan festival, the number of CCTV cameras is being increased in the entire area.
Other than this-
Public Address System will be strengthened. Additional lighting arrangements will be made. Pilgrim Facilitation Centers and Lost and Found Centers will be set up. Additional police forces and PAC will be deployed.
There will be strict surveillance on major temples and Saryu Ghats also.
According to the administration, the security of major religious places including Saryu Ghat, Nageshwarnath Temple, Kshireshwarnath, Hanumangarhi and Kanak Bhawan will also be increased.
Superintendent of Police (Security) Vijay Shankar Mishra said that at present no changes have been implemented in the system, but diversion and other restrictions will be implemented as per the crowd situation.
Final seal left on security roadmap
A security review meeting has been held under the chairmanship of Ayodhya Zone Deputy Inspector General of Police Somen Verma. The final security plan will be approved in the meeting of ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Security Coordination Committee’.
According to the district administration, the Ram temple has the capacity to accommodate about two lakh devotees every day. If the crowd exceeds the prescribed capacity, the devotees will be given darshan through fixed routes in a phased manner.
