Kushinagar: The land of Buddha will be fragrant with the flowers of the metropolitan cities amid the preparations for the New Year fair in Kushinagar, an international tourist destination in Uttar Pradesh. The flower market has also started getting decorated in Kushinagar. Due to the increasing demand for decorations in temples, homes, marriage halls and New Year fairs, an abundance of colorful flowers are being seen in the markets of the district. Flowers are being brought from outside big cities, which has increased the beauty of the market.
Flower seller Chad Kushwaha said that rose flowers reach Kushinagar from Lucknow, Nashik, Pune and Bhopal. Marigold flower comes from Banaras and Kolkata. The material for making bouquets and sunflowers are being brought from Lucknow, while a large consignment of lilies, white flowers, marigolds and sunflowers comes from Kolkata. The demand for flowers for decoration has suddenly increased due to the New Year fair. Talking about prices, roses which were sold for Rs 20 on normal days, have now reached Rs 30 per piece.
