Prayagraj. On the eve of Devotthan Ekadashi, traditionally this time also Deepdan Mahayagya and Kalindi Mahotsav was organized late Friday evening in Sangam city Prayagraj. On this occasion, 1.25 lakh lamps were lit at Mauj Giri Ghat of Juna Akhara. Apart from this, a grand aarti of Mother Yamuna was also performed. Due to lakhs of lamps being lit simultaneously, Yamuna River and its Maujgiri Ghat were bathed in milky light. In the light of the lamps, the view there looked as if thousands of stars had simultaneously descended from the sky and were twinkling on the ground. On this occasion, prayers were offered for everyone’s welfare as well as peace and prosperity in the country and the world. Hundreds of common citizens also participated in Kalindi Mahotsav and Deepdan Mahayagya. The saints, mahatmas and devotees present in the program also performed a special aarti of Mother Yamuna. Special arrangements were made for more than a dozen boats in the river Yamuna for donating lamps. During this time, whoever saw this scene just kept looking at it.
This grand program was organized by Shri Dattatreya Seva Samiti, an organization under the patronage of the prominent saints of Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara. Naga Sanyasi of Juna Akhara of Kalindi Mahotsav and Naga ascetic Mahant Shivanand Giri, administrator of Mauj Giri Ashram and many other saints and mahatmas were present at the Deepdan Mahayagya and Kalindi Mahotsav. According to Naga ascetic Mahant Shivanand Giri, Kalindi Mahotsav and Deepdan Mahayagya are being organized for the last 10 years with the wish of public welfare. The Deepdan Mahayagya and Kalindi Mahotsav was inaugurated by Justice Shekhar Yadav of Allahabad High Court by lighting the lamp, while Justice PK Giri of Allahabad High Court was present as the special guest.
The program was presided over by Mahant Shivanand Giri Maharaj, a Naga ascetic of Juna Akhara named Shri Panch Dashnam. Let us tell you that Devotthan Ekadashi has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. On this occasion, Lord Vishnu not only wakes up from sleep again, but Chaturmas also ends and auspicious works begin.
