New Delhi, October 27 (IANS). The birth anniversary of the country’s iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is being celebrated especially this year. To commemorate his 150th birth anniversary, ‘Run for Unity’ will be organized across the country on October 31. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the countrymen to participate in it.
Reposting a video posted by the official ‘X’ account of ‘Ekta Diwas Bharat’ on Unity Day, PM Modi wrote, “Join the ‘Run for Unity’ on 31st October and celebrate the spirit of unity! Let’s honor Sardar Patel’s dream of a united India.”
‘Run for Unity’ is organized every year on National Unity Day. A video message was posted from the official ‘X’ account of ‘Unity Day India’.
The post said, “Our diversity is the soul of India and Sardar Patel wove this diversity into unity. Prime Minister Modi is carrying forward the same vision. Celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, join the ‘Run for Unity’ and further strengthen the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.”
Let us tell you that PM Modi had said in the 127th episode of the popular radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, “Sardar Patel has been one of the greatest personalities of the nation in modern times. Many qualities were combined in his great personality.”
Appealing to the people, the Prime Minister had said, “I urge you all to participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ to be organized across the country on 31st October, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Saheb.”
PM Modi had said that inspired by Gandhiji, Sardar Patel dedicated himself completely to the freedom movement. His contribution in many movements from ‘Kheda Satyagraha’ to ‘Borsad Satyagraha’ is still remembered.
