Prayagraj. Before the Magh Mela starting from January 3 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, sages and saints created a ruckus. It is alleged that till now they have neither been given land to live in the fair nor are they aware of the facility slip. In fact, more than 100 saints and sages are sitting on strike outside the fair authority office since Friday night. SDM Sanjeev Upadhyay reached the spot at around 11:30 on Saturday. He asked the saints to move away. There was an altercation between the saints and the SDM regarding this.
During this, a saint fell at his feet and said give us the land, otherwise send us to jail. SDM somehow reached inside the office. As soon as he left, the saints created a ruckus outside. Started shouting slogans loudly. After some time, another group of saints arrived with about 25 to 30 people. During this, the people sitting on the dharna were pushed away. After this, more than 200 policemen were deployed outside the fair authority office. Right now the situation is normal.
The saints who were protesting said that they will not leave from here until their demands are met. Now they will either return to their monasteries or the administration will send them to jail. In view of the increasing anger of the saints and sages, heavy police force has been deployed outside the fair authority office. As a precautionary measure, no person is being allowed to enter the office premises. There is a tense situation in the entire area.
