Monthly Shivratri is considered to have special religious significance in Hindu religion. This day is considered very sacred for the worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. It is believed that worship done with true heart on this day removes the obstacles of life and the special blessings of Mahadev remain on the devotees.
Monthly Shivratri is celebrated every month on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha. On this day, Shiva devotees keep fast and worship Lord Shiva especially at night.

🌙 Worship method and fasting rules
On the day of monthly Shivratri, devotees take a bath in the morning and take a vow to fast. After fasting throughout the day, special worship of Lord Shiva is done at night.
The puja mainly consists of:
Consecration of water and milk on Shivling, offering of Belpatra, Dhatura and ashes, chanting of “Om Namah Shivay” mantra, Aarti with lamp and incense, special significance of night vigil.
