Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: Shia and Sunni helpline was started on the first Ramzan for the convenience of fasting people. The questions were answered by a panel of religious leaders under the guidance of Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangimahali on the helpline run by Darul Uloom Nizamia Firangimahali under the Islamic Center of India.
On the helpline of the Islamic Centre, a fasting person asked that if someone’s mouth bleeds while fasting, what would be the effect on the fast? In response to this question, it was told that if the blood does not enter the throat then there will be no difference in fasting. A fasting person asked what are the things that make fasting makruh? In response to this question, it was said that chewing anything unnecessarily, brushing teeth with coal and indulging in singing make Roza makruh.
Maulana Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi answered the questions on the Shia helpline issued by the office of Ayatollah Al Uzma Syed Sadiq Hussaini Shirazi. It was asked on the Shia helpline that if a person keeps fasting and watches reels etc. on social media, is his fast valid? In response to this question, it was said that if a fasting person deliberately sees any non-Shar’i thing, then the fast will not be broken but that person cannot become a spiritual fasting person.
A fasting person asked that it is necessary to make the intention to fast, what is the ruling if a person forgets? In response to this question, it was told that it is necessary for the fasting person to make the intention to fast, whether he makes the intention for each day separately or makes the intention for the entire month together. It was asked on the helpline that if a person is suffering from diabetes and the sugar level increases or decreases during the day, then what is the ruling in such a situation? In response to this question, it was told that if a person is in danger of increasing disease or life due to sugar, then he will not fast.
A fasting person asked that if a person travels a lot, how will his fast be valid? In response to this question, it was told that a person who travels for 10 or 15 days every month can fast while travelling. A question came up that if fast is not broken at the time of Azaan, does the fast become makruh? In response to this question, it was told that if a fasting person fasts iftar after offering namaz, then the fast is not makruh, rather it has more reward.
