Shani Pradosh fast is considered very special in religious beliefs. This day is considered important to get the blessings of both Lord Shiva and Shani Dev. 1. Do Shivling Abhishek
It is considered auspicious to anoint Lord Shiva with water, milk or Ganga water on the evening of Shani Pradosh. It is believed that this provides mental peace and removes negative energy.
2. Importance of charity
Donating black sesame, urad dal, clothes or food to the needy on this day is considered especially fruitful. According to the scriptures, donating reduces the effect of Shani Dosh and brings balance in life.
3. Chanting mantra
On the occasion of Shani Pradosh, it is advisable to chant “Om Namah Shivay” and Shani mantras. It is said that regular chanting of mantra increases concentration of mind and indicates improvement in financial problems.
