Fasting story of Skandamata
The story of Skandmata is associated with the atrocities of a demon named Tarakasura. When the three folk tri-tales were doing Tarakasura’s terror, the gods sought help from Brahma Ji. Brahma Ji said that the slaughter of Tarakasura is possible only by the son of Lord Shiva.
At that time Mahadev was absorbed in deep yoga sleep. On the prayer of the gods, Goddess Parvati gave birth to Lord Kartikeya with her divine sharp and power. Prior to the war with Tarakasura, Mother Parvati herself taught Skanda Bhagwan to war and appointed him the commander of the gods. Mother seated the lion and sent him to the battlefield, where Skanda ji killed Tarakasura with his mother’s guidance and power and conquered the gods.
It is believed that worshiping Maa Skandamata fulfills all the wishes of the devotees, especially the problems related to child. This day is dedicated to the power of motherhood and dedication to children.
