In Vastu Shastra, the main door of the house is considered one of the most important parts. The door is called the face of the house, because it is through it that both positive and negative energy comes into the house. If the main door is placed in the right direction and at the right place, it brings happiness, peace, health and prosperity to the house. However, if the door is in the wrong place, it can create many problems in life. People often mistakenly believe that a main door facing a particular direction is always good or always bad. According to Vaastu, it is not so. A door in any direction can be both good and bad; It entirely depends on which grid (position) he is in that direction. If the door is on the right grid, then auspicious results are obtained, but if it is on the wrong grid, then the same door becomes the cause of problems.
south facing door
There is maximum confusion regarding the south direction. Many people believe that a south facing house is inauspicious or it is considered the door to the world of death, but this thinking is completely wrong. In Vastu Shastra, the south direction itself is neither completely bad nor completely auspicious. If the door is made in the south direction with correct grid placement, then the same house can bring wealth, prosperity, fame and respect. Even a door in the east or north direction can bring problems if it is in the wrong place.
east facing door
East direction is associated with the sun. A door placed at the right place in this direction increases energy, health and progress in the house. It also increases respect and positive thinking.
north facing door
North direction is considered to be the direction of Kuber, the god of wealth. Having the main door in this direction can provide financial stability, new opportunities and career advancement, provided it is in the right place.
Other important Vastu rules related to doors
According to Vastu Shastra, the main door should always be strong, clean and attractive. Broken or dirty doors increase negative energy. It is considered auspicious for the main door to be slightly larger than the other doors of the house. There should not be dustbins, toilets, stairs or pillars right in front of the main door, as these obstruct the flow of positive energy. The entrance should be well lit, and it should not be dark there even at night. Placing auspicious symbols, greenery or nameplates near the entrance brings positive energy.
Which direction is considered worst for main entrance?
According to Vastu Shastra, the most harmful main entrances are considered to be those which are in wrong places between South-South-West and South-West directions (locations from S-6 to W-1). Having an entrance at this place can weaken a person’s ability to think and understand. This can lead to problems like debt, insecurity in relationships, economic decline and reduced standard of living. In many cases, this may also increase the chances of sudden illness or accidents. In this situation, even common Vastu remedies are often not effective.
