Ather Energy has announced that the Rizta electric scooter has crossed the sales mark of 2 lakh units in the Indian market.
India’s leading electric two-wheeler company Ather Energy has said that the sales of its family scooter Rizta has crossed 2 lakh units. This electric scooter, launched in April 2024, took only 20 months to achieve this feat. Earlier, in May 2025, Rizta had crossed the sales mark of 1 lakh units and the next 1 lakh units were sold in just 6 months.
According to the company, Rizta alone contributes more than 70 percent of Ather’s total sales. The Rizta S variant with new color options like Terracotta Red and 3.7 kWh battery was most in demand. Due to increasing demand, Ather has almost doubled its market share in major states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It increased from 7 per cent in Q1 FY26 to 14 per cent in Q3 FY26 (by November 2025).
In Punjab also the company’s market share increased from 8 percent to 15 percent, while in Uttar Pradesh it increased from 4 percent to 10 percent. Additionally, Ather has also recently achieved the milestone of total sales of more than 5 lakh scooters in India, according to Vehicle and Telangana Vehicle Sales data.
Ravneet Singh Phokela, CBO, Ather Energy, said Rizta has been growing rapidly since its launch and has helped the company expand its network in North and Central India. The key focus of the company going forward will be to increase its reach in more cities and make the product easily available.
The Ather Rizta is available in two trims S and Z, which have an IDC range of 123 km and 159 km respectively. It offers a total of 56 liters of storage space, which includes 34 liters of under-seat storage and a 22-litre optional trunk. Many safety features like skid control, fall-safe, ESS, theft and tow alert and Ping My Scooter are also provided.
A few months ago, at Ather Community Day 2025, the company also introduced a major upgrade for the Rizta Z with a touchscreen. By September 30, 2025, Ather has 524 experience centers active across the country. This year the company has also launched Rizta in international markets Nepal and Sri Lanka.
