BSA Scrambler 650 gets a 652 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 44.5 bhp power and 55 Nm torque.
Classic Legends has launched the BSA Scrambler 650 in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This is BSA’s second model in India, after the BSA Gold Star 650 and its direct competitor is the Royal Enfield Bear 650. The global debut of the BSA Scrambler 650 took place in the UK in July last year.
This Scrambler bike has been introduced in Raven Black, Victor Yellow and Thunder Gray colors. It has been specially tuned to provide better control on Indian roads and different types of terrains. This bike directly competes with Royal Enfield Bear 650. It has a 652 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which gives power of 44.5 bhp and torque of 55 Nm.
This engine is specially tuned for low and mid-range performance and is provided with a 6-speed gearbox. Talking about design, an attempt has been made to give a different identity to the Scrambler 650 from the Gold Star 650, but the family look has been maintained in it. It has elements like round headlight, high front mudguard, upswept exhaust, braced handlebar and semi-knobby tyres, which give it a real scrambler look.
The BSA Scrambler 650 comes with a round digital instrument cluster as standard fitment. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, which are suitable for rough roads and mild off-road.
For suspension, it has been provided with 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, a 320 mm disc is provided at the front and a 255 mm disc at the rear, both of which use Brembo calipers. Features like traction control and switchable rear ABS are also available in the bike. Its ground clearance is 187 mm, seat height is 820 mm and wheelbase is 1,465 mm.
The company is giving a warranty of 4 years or 50,000 km with this bike, which can be extended up to 6 years. Apart from this, the option of roadside assistance for 8 years and AMC for 5 years is also given. Apart from this, many accessories like engine guard, saddle bag, rear rack and headlight grill are also available. Overall, the BSA Scrambler 650 has emerged as a strong challenger for Royal Enfield with its price and features.
