Mumbai, June 30 (IANS). Uddhav Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday criticized party MLA Sachin Ahir’s move to join the Eknath Shinde camp. He said that why should we mourn the departure of those who had joined the party only for their own interests?
Taking to social media platform After this he said in more harsh words, “Why should we mourn the departure of those who already come to the party with a spirit of selfishness and dishonesty?”
Apart from this, expressing deep disappointment, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray questioned Sachin Ahir’s leaving the party and what else could have been given to him.
Aditya Thackeray said, “We have been seeing for the last four days, in fact for the last four years, that the people who were closest and who got everything are leaving the party for their own selfish reasons. Therefore, there is nothing surprising or shocking in this. Areas like Worli or Sewri have always been Shiv Sena’s strongholds and will remain so in future too. It does not matter to us if anyone comes or goes.”
He further said, “It is not that he could not talk to me. Be it the ward committee, the post of deputy leader in Shiv Sena or the post of union president, there were daily conversations and contacts. In such a situation, the question arises that what else do you want? Was it that we were not meeting, as others often complain? It was not so; we were always together. So, how much more will you snatch away, and what else should we do? Can we now do puja for you every day? Do?”
However, Ahir strongly denied these allegations, saying, “It is unfortunate that as long as we were together, we were considered good, but as soon as we separated, we were declared incompetent. I will respond to this criticism on the right political platform.”
Ahir, who was also accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, was speaking at a press conference. Responding to Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut’s allegation that he had joined the party for personal selfishness, Ahir hit back, “Was I not selfish when I joined his group earlier? If not then, why am I now? I have always tried to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to me by Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray with full dedication.”
He then said, “It is unfortunate that as soon as you no longer live with them, you are declared useless. What to say about people who have never picked up even a stone from the ground, they start preaching to others?”
Ahir claimed that while in UBT, he worked vigorously to strengthen the party organization in Pune district, where he was entrusted with organizational work. Furthermore, he said that he tried to give his best during his tenure as a corporator, MLA and minister.
