The Honda ZR-V has a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine, which works on a hybrid system with two electric motors.
Honda Cars India is soon going to launch a big new product in India. The company’s new premium SUV ZR-V will be launched in the Indian market on 22 May 2026. Honda City facelift will also be introduced on the same day. The company will bring Honda ZR-V to India as a fully imported CBU model.
It will be positioned in the premium SUV segment, where it will compete with SUVs like Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. It will sit above Honda’s existing SUV Elevate in the portfolio and will become the company’s new flagship SUV in India. The price of this SUV in India can be Rs 40-50 lakh.
The platform of the new ZR-V is shared with the 11th generation Honda Civic. It will get e:HEV strong hybrid system, in which 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and two electric motors will be provided. This setup will come with e-CVT gearbox. In this way, this SUV will deliver power of 181 HP and torque of 315 Nm. This system will be able to automatically switch between EV, Hybrid and Engine modes as per the need.
In international markets, the SUV is also available with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, but only the hybrid variant is expected to be launched in India initially and its numbers may be limited. Talking about size, the length of Honda ZR-V is 4,568 mm, width is 1,840 mm and height is 1,620 mm. Its wheelbase has been kept at 2,655 mm.
Its design looks more premium and crossover style compared to Elevate. The front has an octagonal grille, slim LED headlamps and L-shaped DRLs. At the back, wraparound LED tail lamps and a clean bumper design are available. 19-inch alloy wheels are also available in the international model.
9-inch inside the cabin touchscreen Infotainment system and 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster will be available. Apart from this, features like dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, Bose premium audio system, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ADAS, powered tailgate will also be provided.
