Hyundai Motor India has recorded total sales of 66,134 units in February 2026. The company has achieved a strong growth of 12.6 percent on an annual basis. This is the highest total sales for any February month in the company’s history. Hyundai sold 52,407 units in the domestic market, which is the highest ever figure for the month of February and registered a growth of 9.8 percent year-on-year.
At the same time, exports also increased by 24.8 percent and 13,727 cars made in India were sent to various global markets. Hyundai was India’s third largest auto brand in the calendar year 2025. However, it slipped from second place to Mahindra. In the year 2025, Hyundai sold a total of 5,53,343 units, while Tata Motors secured the fourth position by selling 5,50,271 units.
Commenting on the February 2026 sales results, the company’s MD & CEO Tarun Garg said, “January 2026 got off to a great start with record monthly sales and the momentum continued in February. The total sales of 66,134 units is the highest for any February in the company’s history.”
In January 2026, Hyundai stood at fourth position with sales of 59,107 units. That month, Tata Motors (70,222 units) stood second and Mahindra (63,510 units) stood third. Hyundai Creta has been the brand’s best-selling car in the domestic market with average monthly sales of more than 15,000 units and has maintained its dominance in the midsize SUV segment.
Hyundai launched the new generation Hyundai Venue in October last year, as the sales of the older model were continuously declining. Recently, the company introduced the affordable ‘Era’ variant of Hyundai i20 for Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which has features like six airbags, full digital instrument cluster, front and rear skid plates, body-color ORVMs and Type-C USB charger.
As a further strategy, Hyundai is preparing to launch several new models in both ICE and electric segments in India. The company will bring an Inster-based small EV, which will compete with the Tata Punch EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Apart from this, a crossover based on Bayon can also be launched this year, which will compete with Maruti Fronx. Facelift versions of Hyundai Ioniq 5, Exter and Verna will also be introduced in 2026.
