The country’s leading vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has launched the facelift model of its famous SUV Roxor. Adorned with a very attractive look and strong engine capacity, the company has made many changes in this SUV, which sets it apart from the previous model. It gets a brand new front face as well as some new cosmetic changes.
Let us tell you that this new model of Mahindra Roxor has been launched in the US market. Where the price of its base variant has been fixed at $ 18,899 (about Rs 14.04 lakh) and $ 26,299 (about Rs 19.54 lakh) for the top model. Its top-spec model is more expensive than the Jeep Wrangler by over $4,000 (approximately Rs. 2.97 lakh).
The Roxor has been a contentious affair for Mahindra as all was not going smoothly after the court battle with the FCA. In the year 2019, Mahindra was ordered by a court to violate the design of Jeep, mainly with regard to the front design of the SUV. After which the company changed it and removed the vertical grille slats from the new design, but it was not all over.
Shortly afterwards, the United States International Trade Commission halted sales of the Mahindra Roxor in the US until the SUV was legally designated as separate from the Jeep design. Now let’s talk about the new model, there are some cosmetic changes in its design, but it is largely the same as before.
These changes have happened in the new Roxor:
The Mahindra Roxor has been equipped with a new front face with a separate black grille bar. The round-shaped headlamps are positioned slightly more to the side. The flat bonnet structure, exposed fenders, sturdy front and rear bumpers along with the word ‘Mahindra’ have been placed on the underside of the front windshield.
In Mahindra Roxor, the company has used a turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine of 2.5 liters capacity as before. Which generates the power of 62Hp and torque of 195 Nm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox, with a top speed of 88 km/h.
