Mahindra is expected to launch 16 new SUVs in the Indian market by 2031, including electric models.

Mahindra will expand its portfolio in the Indian market over the next five years. The company may launch about 16 new utility vehicles by 2031. The lineup will include compact SUVs, off-roaders, family-focused models and fully electric vehicles. After launching several new models in the last two years, the company is now working on some of its biggest projects, including a production model based on the Vision S concept.

The first models to arrive may include a compact SUV based on the Vision S. It has been spotted testing several times and is often referred to as the “mini Scorpio N”. This SUV will be positioned above the XUV 3XO and inspiration can be seen from the Scorpio N in its design. Its launch may happen in early 2027.

Mahindra is also working on a new Vision X based crossover. Although not much information has been revealed about it yet, it is believed that in future it can replace XUV 3XO. This model will be based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ monocoque platform, on which the Vision S will also be produced. Many other SUVs can also be launched on the same platform by the end of the decade.

Mahindra is also preparing for major expansion in the electric vehicle segment. The BE.07, coming in 2027, will be the company’s flagship electric SUV. Measuring approximately 4.6 meters long, the SUV will be positioned above the BE 6 and is expected to get a larger battery pack, longer driving range and a premium cabin. It will be based on the INGLO platform, which is also being used in the company’s existing electric SUVs.

Rall-E based on BE 6 is also much discussed. The production model may see more ground clearance, wider tyres, changed suspension setup and more rugged body cladding. Apart from this, the company is also working on an electric Thar, in which design elements inspired by the existing Thar and Vision T concept can be found.

Along with new SUVs, Mahindra will also update its existing models. The three-door Thar facelift may get a design inspired by the Thar Roxx and a more feature-rich cabin. While the Scorpio N facelift may see cosmetic changes and new features added, the engine options are likely to remain the same.

Mahindra’s plans can also be gauged from its recent launches. The company has already launched ICE models like XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, XUV 7XO, Bolero Facelift and Bolero Neo Facelift. BE 6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S and XUV 3XO EV have been included in the electric lineup.
