4 new electric cars priced between Rs 10-20 lakh are expected to be launched in the Indian market in the next two months.
Two big companies of India, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors are at the forefront in the matter of electric vehicles. Both of them have a variety of EV vehicles, and now they are preparing to launch a new electric car soon. At the same time, the country’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki will also launch its first electric car around this time.
Mahindra will launch a new electric car in India in November. This model will be the company’s fourth electric SUV, before this the company has launched XUV400, BE 6 and XEV 9e. The upcoming Mahindra EV is expected to be either the XEV 7e or the XUV 3XO EV. The XEV 7e will provide customers with a pure electric alternative to the XUV700, with three-row seating suitable for larger families.
This large SUV is expected to have similar features and specifications as the XEV 9e, but due to its larger size and weight, its driving range may be slightly less. In terms of design, it will adopt a bold and modern approach, which will include a closed-off grille, signature LED lighting and aerodynamic elements. On the inside, it is expected to get a large infotainment screen, connected car technology and many advanced safety features like ADAS.
Tata Motors is planning to launch not one, but two electric vehicles this quarter. The company will also launch an updated Punch.EV along with the facelifted Punch coming in November. The new Punch.EV will likely have a larger battery pack which will allow customers to cover a longer range. The largest available 35 kWh battery pack of the current model can cover a maximum range of 365 km.
In December, Tata Motors will launch its new Hyundai Creta electric rival, the Sierra.ev. Recently spotted images suggest that it will include a triple-screen setup, while there are also rumors of a four-seat lounge version, which could really make it stand out in the crowded mid-size SUV segment.
Maruti Suzuki is also planning to launch the Hyundai Creta’s electric rival, the e-Vitara, in December. The company has started its production, but at present it is manufacturing this electric car only for export markets. It will include features like 7 airbags, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-way power driver seat and 40:20:40 split, sliding and reclining rear seat.
