Maruti Suzuki Dzire has crossed the 30 lakh unit sales mark in less than 18 years since its launch in the market in 2008.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire has achieved a major milestone in India. The total sales of this compact sedan has crossed 30 lakh units. Despite the growing popularity of SUVs, the car still remains one of the most important models for Maruti Suzuki and often features in the list of best-selling cars every month.
The achievement comes at a time when the Maruti Suzuki Dzire took the title of the country’s best-selling passenger car in the 2025 calendar year. More than 2.14 lakh units were sold that year. The new generation launched in late 2024 had a major contribution in this, in which many changes were made in both design and features.
Special attention has been paid to safety in the fourth generation Dzire. It has features like 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist and ISOFIX child seat anchors. This 5-seater sedan has achieved 5-star safety rating in both India NCAP and Global NCAP crash tests.
The new Dzire has a Z-series petrol engine, which has been designed to give better mileage. Its petrol manual variant gives a mileage of up to 24.79 km/litre. The mileage of the company’s S-CNG version is said to be up to 33.73 km/kg, making it one of the most economical sedans in the market.
With time, technology and comfort related features in Maruti Suzuki Dzire have also improved a lot. Many modern features have been provided in the new model, which include electric sunroof, 360-degree camera, 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, Suzuki Connect connected car technology is also available in it, which includes features like smartwatch connectivity and voice assistant.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s journey in India started in 2008, when it was launched as Swift Dzire as a compact sedan based on the Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback. Since then, the car has gone through four generations and the design, features and performance have been improved with each new generation.
