Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available with two battery options, including a 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh LFP battery pack
Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Victoris midsize SUV in India and it is being sold through Arena dealerships. This 5-seater car is placed slightly below the Grand Vitara and people are liking it a lot so far. Within a few weeks it has received more than 25,000 bookings. Now the country’s largest car company is working on strengthening its SUV lineup.
The Indo-Japanese manufacturer had showcased its first electric car, the e Vitara, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and now it will arrive in showrooms this December. Production of the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara began in August for international markets and over 6,000 units have been shipped out from SMC’s Gujarat plant so far.
Initially, more than 2,900 units were shipped from Pipavav port in Gujarat to 12 European countries such as UK, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria and Belgium. This locally made electric SUV will now be exported to more than 100 countries and will soon be launched in the Indian market as well.
In India, it will be sold through premium Nexa sales centers and is expected to be priced above Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). It will have a BYD-sourced 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh LFP battery pack, which is claimed to have a driving range of over 500 km per charge.
It is all set to compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curve EV and Harrier EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, MG Windsor EV etc. The smaller battery pack paired with the electric motor makes 144 PS of power and 192.5 Nm of torque, while the larger one comes with a more powerful motor, producing 174 PS of maximum power and 192.5 Nm of torque.
Thanks to DC fast charging, its battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. Available in Delta, Zeta and Alpha trim levels, it is based on the Heartect E architecture and will offer excellent safety. This includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.1-inch digital instrument console, 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, 360-degree camera and more.
