Maruti Wagon R Bioflex has been priced at Rs 7.24 lakh, which is Rs 86,000 more expensive than the petrol ZXi+ manual variant.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced its new Wagon R Bioflex, which is designed to run on ethanol blended fuel. While the regular Wagon R is available to private customers in multiple variants, the new Bioflex is based only on the top-spec ZXi+ variant.
The price of new Wagon R Bioflex has been kept at Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom). It is Rs 86,000 costlier than the regular Wagon R ZXi+ manual variant. Its price is about Rs 2.2 lakh more than the commercial Wagon R Tour H3. This higher price is due to the additional technical changes and flex-fuel system that enable it to run on ethanol blended fuel.
Talking about design, Wagon R Bioflex looks almost similar to the regular model. It has the same tall-boy design, tall body and large cabin. However, to give it a different identity, Bioflex badging and flex-fuel graphics have been given on the body. Features of ZXi+ variant are also available in the cabin. It has dual-tone interior, fabric seats and multi-function steering wheel.
The features list includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, 6 airbags and electronic stability control (ESC). Apart from this, rear parking sensor, front fog lamp, rear AC vents and 4-speaker audio system are also available. Maruti has introduced this model especially keeping in mind the companies, fleet operators and commercial customers.
Talking about the engine, it has a 1.2-litre K-Series 4-cylinder petrol engine. The company has made many technical changes in it to run on fuel with higher ethanol blend. New fuel injectors, upgraded fuel pump, special fuel lines and ethanol detection sensor have been installed in it. Additionally, the Engine Management System (ECU) has also been recalibrated.
Although the official figures of power and torque of the Bioflex version have not been revealed yet, the same 1.2-litre engine of the regular Wagon R generates 91 hp power and 114 Nm torque. It has a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
