Agreement with UP government
To bring this event back to India, an MoU has been signed between the State Transformation Commission of Uttar Pradesh Government and AVW Global. The objective of this agreement is to make the state a major center for international racing.
AVW Global representative Karel Abraham said that this partnership will give Uttar Pradesh a strong identity on the global racing map. Meanwhile, Commission CEO Manoj Kumar Singh expressed confidence that this collaboration will once again promote professional bike racing in India.
What happened before?
MotoGP was organized for the first time at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in the year 2023. Although there was intense heat and some technical problems at that time, the riders praised the track a lot.
After this, the proposed race in 2024 and 2025 was cancelled. It was expected to return in 2026, but at present it has not found a place in the official calendar.

Although MotoGP may be delayed, a round of the Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) could be held at the Buddh International Circuit this year between August-September. With this, motorsports activities in India can gain momentum again.
