The first two new generation Classic models to be launched in India in the second half of next year will be the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150.
Bajaj Auto is preparing to make 2026 a special year, because this year the Pulsar brand will complete 25 years of its launch. The company’s Managing Director and CEO Rajiv Bajaj has already hinted that the coming year will be in the name of Pulsar and now new information shows that this change will include the Pulsar Classic series.
Currently the Pulsar range is divided into several different series, but the classic Pulsar models still play an important role in the company’s sales. Models like the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 are still based on the old design and mechanical set-up, which were produced many years ago. Despite getting updates from time to time, there has been no major change in the basic design of these bikes.
Now Bajaj is expected to introduce an all-new platform for the classic Pulsar range. This change is considered to be the biggest update since the introduction of Pulsar. The new classic Pulsar bikes could be launched in the second half of 2026, especially around the festive season.
This change is likely to start with Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150. The current classic Pulsar bikes come with a double-cradle frame and twin rear shock absorbers, which now look dated compared to the newer rivals. The upcoming generation may see a more modern chassis, which may be largely inspired by the Pulsar N series. Monoshock rear suspension is also expected to be available with it.
The new platform will also affect the engine. Bajaj may retain the 125cc and 150cc engine capacities as they have good acceptance in the market. However, some technical changes can be made in the engines according to the new chassis, so that better refinement and mileage can be provided.
In terms of design, the Pulsar identity is expected to remain the same. Instead of giving it a completely new look, Bajaj can adopt a gradually evolving design. Elements like the large fuel tank, sharp body lines and powerful stance will remain, while modern features like LED lighting, updated instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity can be seen for the first time in the classic Pulsar range.
