Total sales of the Toyota Innova HyCross recently crossed 2 lakh units, while the Hyrider continues to establish a strong hold in the midsize SUV segment.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced a major milestone in the sales of its hybrid vehicles in India. The company has crossed the sales mark of 3 lakh hybrid vehicles in the country. This achievement is being considered a major step towards promoting environmentally better and more sustainable vehicles in India.
This achievement shows that people in India have now started preferring Self-Charging Hybrid Vehicles. Due to better mileage, less pollution, good driving experience and easy use, customers are increasingly moving towards hybrid vehicles. Besides, this also clearly shows the trust that people have in the Toyota brand.
Toyota has more than 30 years of experience in hybrid technology and the company is working on many new technologies to improve the environment. Toyota has sold more than 38 million electrified vehicles worldwide to date, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 197 million tonnes. Toyota is selling many hybrid models in India keeping in mind the different needs and infrastructure of the customers. These include Urban Cruiser Hyrider, Innova HyCross, Camry Hybrid and Vellfire.
Hyryder and Innova HyCross have been the biggest contributors behind this achievement. Total sales of the Innova HyCross recently crossed 2 lakh units, while the Hyrider has made a strong mark in the midsize SUV segment since its launch. Both these models fall in a segment where their demand is high especially among family and long distance traveling buyers.
On this occasion, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President – Sales, Service & Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that the company is very happy and proud to achieve the sales figure of 3 lakh hybrid vehicles in India. He said that Toyota’s “Mass Electrification” vision is based on providing customers with electrified vehicles that are easy to use, reliable and can be easily adopted by more and more people.
To further strengthen customer confidence, Toyota gives 8 years warranty on the batteries of its hybrid vehicles. This assures customers of reliable and durable performance over the long term. Toyota also reiterated that the company will continue to work on new technologies such as Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) and Flex-Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) to promote low-carbon mobility under the “Mass Happiness to All” vision.
