The E3 variant of Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is costlier by about Rs 3.60 lakh compared to the top variant of Maruti e Vitara.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has today officially announced the prices of the urban cruiser Ebella. This is the Japanese brand’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV) for the Indian market. At present, only one variant E3 has been launched, whose ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 23,60,000.
This electric SUV has a 61 kWh battery pack, which comes with an electric motor generating power of 128 kW (172 HP) and torque of 189 Nm. It uses the same Heartect-e platform on which Maruti Suzuki’s e Vitara is built. The exterior design is based on Toyota’s “Urban Tech” theme which includes a hammerhead front design, signature LED lighting, aerodynamic silhouette, dual-tone color options and 18-inch alloy wheels.
A total of 9 color options are provided which include 5 monotone and 4 dual-tone combinations. The cabin has been designed to give a premium feel and looks a lot like the e Vitara, which starts at Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
It is expected that Toyota will soon reveal the prices of other variants as well. However, the top-spec E3 variant is already costlier than the e Vitara by around Rs 3.60 lakh. Talking about the features, it has features like ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, ambient lighting with 12 color options, panoramic sunroof and JBL premium sound system.
Apart from this, this electric SUV gets a Unified Digital Cockpit with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual-tone interior theme is also available. For safety, it has been provided with 7 airbags, level-2 ADAS, 360-degree camera and high-tensile body structure.
Along with AC and DC fast charging support, features like remote charging operation, charging scheduling and battery monitoring are also available through the i-Connect platform. Toyota has set up over 500 BEV-ready service touchpoints across the country, where specialized diagnostic tools and infrastructure will be available. Additionally, more than 2,500 BEV-trained technicians have also been prepared.
The company is also offering 8 years battery warranty, assured buyback option, Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plans and attractive finance schemes with this electric SUV. With a price tag of Rs 23.60 lakh, the urban cruiser Ebella is positioned above rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric, e Vitara and Mahindra BE 6 in the Indian electric midsize SUV segment. According to the company, it is capable of giving a driving range of up to 543 km on a single charge.
