The 2026 Hyundai Exeter has received several updates to the exterior and interior and now comes with more safety features as standard.
Hyundai Motor India Limited has launched the updated Exter in the domestic market, with a starting price of Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom). More than 25 upgrades have been given in this new version of micro SUV. According to the company, since its launch, Exter has received more than 2 lakh customers in India. Talking about the exterior design, many changes have been made in the new Exter.
Talking about the price, the price starts from Rs 5.79 lakh for the petrol manual variant and goes up to Rs 9.41 lakh for the top AMT variant. Whereas the price of CNG variant is between Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.40 lakh. Bookings have started for Rs 11,000 through Hyundai dealerships and the company’s online platform.
It gets a new front fascia, a redesigned black grille, new front and rear bumpers, new tailgate and C-pillar detailing, additional wheel arch cladding and a wing-style rear spoiler. Apart from this, it also gets newly designed 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It measures 3,830 mm in length, 1,723 mm in width and 1,643 mm in height (with roof rails), while the wheelbase is 2,450 mm. The company claims that it is the tallest SUV in its segment and also has the longest wheelbase.
The cabin has been given a more premium feel with a new navy-grey dual-tone theme and 3D carbon-effect dashboard. Hyundai has also added metal pedals, D-cut steering wheel, updated seat upholstery and a folding armrest for the driver. Rear headrest and driver seat height adjustment are now standard across all variants. The petrol variant has a boot space of 391 litres, while the dual-cylinder CNG version has 225 liters of luggage space and an underbody spare wheel is also standard.
Talking about the features, it gets electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster and over-the-air updates for maps and infotainment. Apart from this, dashcam, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear Type-C charging port and Bluelink connectivity (with more than 60 connected features) are also provided. According to the company, this system supports more than 300 voice commands, which work even without internet.
Talking about the engine, it has a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine, which comes with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The company says that this is the only SUV in its segment which has a four-cylinder petrol engine. Additionally, a 1.2-litre petrol-CNG bi-fuel version is also available with a manual transmission.
In terms of safety, it has been provided with more than 45 features, out of which 30 are standard. 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) are provided as standard in all variants. The new Exeter is available in 7 monotone and 1 dual-tone color options, which also include new Golden Bronze and Titanium Black Matte shades.
