Jodhpur/Shergarh: ‘Ratri Chaupal’ was successfully organized in Solankia Tala Gram Panchayat of Shergarh subdivision on Monday night with the aim of quick resolution of the problems of the common people and ensuring the reach of the administration to every village. District Collector Alok Ranjan himself sat among the villagers and listened to their plight and ensured resolution of many issues on the spot.
The villagers who reached the Chaupal in large numbers highlighted basic problems like electricity, water and roads. Instead of keeping the public hearing a mere formality, the Collector summoned the concerned departmental officers on the spot. Electricity: The Collector took a strong stand on the problem of dilapidated electricity wires in the area and ordered the Discom officials to complete the repair work within 48 hours (two days).
Drinking Water: In view of the scorching heat, the Collector directed PHED officials to ensure that there is no shortage of water in any pond and the supply remains smooth.
The Collector also reprimanded the officials regarding the pending cases of social security pension and the delay in the installments of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He directed that the benefits of government schemes should reach the eligible person without any hindrance. Apart from this, he also assured to take immediate action on the proposals for sewer line and road repair.
Along with administrative work, the Collector also encouraged social concerns. During the programme, Bhamashahs who contributed to the development of the area and meritorious students who excelled in the field of education were honoured. The Collector said that encouraging the youth and motivating social workers further accelerates the pace of development.
Through Ratri Chaupal, the District Collector gave the message that the administration is not limited to files only, but stands with the public on the ground. This effective event in Shergarh has seen a new wave of confidence among the villagers.
