Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Israel’s highest honor ‘Speaker of the Knesset Medal’. Parliament Speaker Amir Ohana bestowed the honor on Prime Minister Modi soon after he addressed MPs in Parliament in Jerusalem.
PM Modi delivered a historic speech in the Israeli Parliament, the first by an Indian Prime Minister. In his address, he expressed his gratitude for this honor and called it a recognition of the unbreakable friendship between the two democratic countries.
This achievement further enhances Prime Minister Modi’s rare global prestige, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi becomes one of the few leaders to be honored at the highest level by both Israel and Palestine. PM Modi received the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine award in 2018, the highest Palestinian honor for foreign individuals.
