Behror/Kotputli. The recent decision of Rajasthan High Court Jodhpur on the National Highway has given sleepless nights to the traders and residents living along the highway. Now murmurs of public movement have started against this decision of February 2026. In this sequence, Behror Pradhan Saroj Bastiram Yadav, taking the lead, has written a letter to the Central and State Governments, strongly demanding review of this decision.
Attacking the spirit of democracy, Pradhan Saroj Yadav has sent a letter to Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav through email informing them about the situation. He said that removing the construction works within a radius of 75-75 meters on both sides (total 150 meters) from the center point of the National Highway is not a just step in the public interest.
Sword of unemployment on crores of families
In the letter, Pradhan clarified that thousands of hotels, restaurants, commercial establishments, hospitals and subsidized houses are operating within this stretch of the highway. The livelihood of crores of people is directly and indirectly linked to these establishments. If these structures are broken, crores of families will face the threat of starvation, which is against the concept of a welfare government.
Huge public anger and fear of public unrest
Since this decision of the High Court, there is immense dissatisfaction, fear and an atmosphere of destruction among the people living along the highway. Pradhan has warned that if this decision is not reconsidered in time, it may take the form of huge public anger. To maintain public peace and order, it is necessary that this decision is reviewed and the existing construction works are kept intact.
Main demands from the government:
A review petition should be filed in public interest on the February 2026 decision of Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur.
Old constructions falling within a radius of 75-75 meters from the center point of the highway should be allowed to remain ‘as is’.
The human side should not be ignored in the name of development and environment.
