Meerut, October 23 (). Bhai Dooj, the holy festival of brother-sister relationship, is being celebrated across the country on Thursday. On this day, sisters apply tilak to their brother, wishing for his long life.
On this special festival, special arrangements have been made for Bhai Dooj in Chaudhary Charan Singh District Jail of Meerut. The jail administration has made preparations in collaboration with NGOs for the sisters coming to meet their brothers. Some sisters also became emotional after seeing their brothers in jail.
Many arrangements were made in the district jail of Meerut on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. The jail administration arranged chairs, tables and refreshments for the people coming from the prisoners’ families to sit. The jail administration claims that today 4 to 5 thousand sisters can come to vaccinate their brothers. Sisters are being reunited with their brothers under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. On this occasion, some sisters became emotional after seeing their brothers.
Speaking to , Senior Jail Superintendent of Meerut Jail, Viresh Raj Sharma, said, “In view of the festival, a large number of sisters are coming to the jail and today the timings for meeting prisoners have also been extended. Sisters will be able to meet their brothers from 8 am to 5 pm.”
He further said that some sisters are also in jail, whose brothers are coming to meet them. Those sisters whose brothers will not be able to come will apply tilak to me like every year.”
Let us tell you that every year special arrangements are made for the sisters and their family members on the occasion of Rakshabandhan and Bhaidooj in Meerut’s Chaudhary Charan Singh District Jail, so that the jail prisoners or undertrials can meet their families on the occasion of the festival. On the occasion of festivals, family members are sent inside under tight security with numbers and get a chance to talk for a limited time. For security reasons, special care is taken to ensure that no crowd gathers in the prison.
