New Delhi. Counting of votes continues for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. According to the latest trends of the Election Commission, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seems to be easily crossing the required figure of 122 for majority. In the trends, BJP has an lead compared to all other parties. According to the latest data of the Election Commission, BJP is leading on maximum 92 seats. The second party is Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), which is leading on 82 seats. Apart from this, the main opposition party of the state, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is leading on 26 seats. Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading on 21 seats. The main opposition party of the country and the main party of the opposition grand alliance in Bihar, Congress is ahead on only 4 seats. Apart from these, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party (AIMIM) is leading on 5 seats, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) is leading on 5 seats, Rashtriya Lok Morcha is leading on two seats and AIMIM is leading on three seats. Counting of votes is taking place on Friday after voting for a total of 243 assembly seats in Bihar in two phases (121 assembly seats in the first phase on November 6 and 122 assembly seats in the second phase on November 11). The counting of votes started at 8:00 am with postal ballots and half an hour later at 8:30 am, counting of votes started with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). According to officials, 243 returning officers (ROs), assisted by 243 counting observers, are monitoring the process in the presence of the contesting candidates and their authorized agents. A total of 4,372 counting tables have been installed, each of which is manned by a counting observer, an assistant and a micro-observer. More than 18,000 counting agents appointed by the candidates are monitoring the counting process to ensure fairness and transparency. —
