There was intermittent firing since morning, in which the Maoists were given a befitting reply.
DRG troops recovered three bodies, identified as Madvi Deva (Konta area committee member), Podiyam Gangi (CNM commander) and Sodi Gangi (Kistaram area committee member). All of them were staunch cadres of the Maoist organization who were involved in IED attacks, firing on police and killing of villagers. Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj Pattalingam said that Maoism is in its last stages in Bastar. The grip of the organization has been broken and surrender is the only option left, leaving aside the path of violence. He warned that the Maoists’ conspiracy of terror and confusion will no longer work.
So far, 233 Maoists have been killed in Bastar range in the year 2025, which includes Central Committee members, DKSZC members and PLGA cadre. This figure is proof of the decisive defeat of Maoism. Naxalite hideouts are being rapidly eliminated due to the joint action of security forces, police and local stakeholders. After the encounter, DRG, Bastar Fighters, CRPF and other forces have started extensive searching in the surrounding area. There is a possibility that more cadres may be hiding or injured. A detailed report will be issued upon completion of the operation.
