New Delhi, December 1 (IANS). If you want your body to feel light and fresh, then it is important to adopt detox (body cleansing) habits. Detoxifying the body does not just mean losing weight, but also gradually removing the dirt accumulated inside the body.
Ayurveda says that ‘Aama’ is formed when the digestive power is weak, food is not digested completely, heavy food is eaten at night or frequent snacks are eaten. As the weight increases, problems like heaviness in the body, stiffness in the joints, dullness on the face and constipation start appearing.
The easy solution for this is light food, warm water and some special herbs like Triphala, ginger, turmeric and ghee. These strengthen digestion and gently cleanse the body.
According to modern science, hydration, fiber-rich food and antioxidants cleanse the body naturally. When the liver and kidneys function smoothly, the toxins are eliminated on their own. Hot water speeds up metabolism, turmeric and ginger reduce inflammation and fiber helps in smooth digestion by removing waste accumulated in the intestines.
Small home remedies are also very effective. Drink lukewarm water on an empty stomach in the morning, take Triphala powder at night, warm water with honey eases digestion, lemon water supports the liver, cumin water reduces gas and turmeric water is beneficial for skin and liver. Taking bath with hot water and eating light food like khichdi or moong dal makes the body feel light.
Include khichdi, seasonal fruits, vegetable soup, buttermilk, ghee, lemon, cumin and ginger in your diet. Avoid fried food, excessive sweets, cold water, curd at night, frequent snacks and packed food. By making small everyday changes, the body itself feels healthy, the face glows, digestion improves and the mood becomes lighter.
Caution: This is general information only. Before using any Ayurvedic medicine, definitely consult a qualified physician.
