Delhi Police’s preparations for Republic Day 2026 are in the final stage. In view of the Republic Day rehearsal parade, Delhi Traffic Police has issued traffic advisories for several areas of Central Delhi. During this period, traffic on many roads will be completely closed, while diversion will be in place on some. Due to rehearsal, this scheme will be applicable from January 19 to January 21. Therefore, it is important for you to read this information before hitting the road.
In view of the Republic Day Parade and Rehearsal Parade, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory. Under this advisory, traffic will be affected on many main roads of Central Delhi from around 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on January 19, 20 and 21. During this, the route of the parade will be from Vijay Chowk to India Gate, Duty Path to C-Hexagon. Due to this, traffic control and diversion will remain in force in the entire area.
During this period, traffic on these roads will remain closed or stopped.

Apart from this, the entire duty path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will remain closed.

Delhi Police has appealed to the people to check the traffic advisory before leaving home on Republic Day so that they are aware of the traffic or road closures and the hassles are minimized. Apart from this, those participating in the parade have been requested to use public transport like bus and metro instead of private vehicles.

This year, the seating areas for spectators watching the parade have been named after rivers. Visitors sitting in the southern part of the basin of Beas, Brahmaputra, Ganga, Ghaghra, Godavari, Indus and Jhelum rivers have been advised to alight at Udyog Bhawan metro station.
