Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has once again shown his sensitive personality. 160 slum children studying in Tong Lane School located in Sarah area of Dharamshala got the opportunity to watch 20 international cricket matches played between India and South Africa today. This opportunity was provided in line with the promise made by the Chief Minister to these children during his recent visit to Dharamshala. This very emotional effort of the Chief Minister brought big smiles on the faces of these children. For these children living with limited resources, watching an international cricket match sitting in the stadium was like a dream come true. During the match, excitement, enthusiasm and happiness were clearly visible among the children. The children expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister in one voice and said that for the first time they have seen such a big event from close quarters, which they will remember throughout their life. The school management and parents also praised the Chief Minister and said that this type of initiative instills confidence in the children of the deprived section of the society and inspires them to move forward. He said that this is the first time that the children of Tong Lane School have come to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala to watch an international level cricket match.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister had recently visited the hostel of Tong Lane organization during the morning walk during the winter session held in Dharamshala and while talking to the children there, he had promised to show them a cricket match. Now this promise has been fulfilled on the instructions of the Chief Minister. In Dharamshala and the surrounding slums, families of laborers from outside states live who earn their living by working as daily wage labourers. These children have to face various adverse circumstances. Such children are now shaping their future by getting education in Tong Lane and their dreams have been given wings by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
