Jodhpur. Cabinet Minister Jogaram Patel said that time has witnessed when the state was known as a drought-stricken and sandy land and now due to the dedication and hard work of agricultural scientists and farmers, it is producing excellent fruits like pomegranate, figs and dates. He said that today carrots are being exported in abundance to other cities, groundnuts are also being produced excellently here and if a market is established in such a situation, it will be of great benefit to the farmers.
Jogaram Patel was addressing as the chief guest at the mega agricultural science fair organized under the joint aegis of NABARD, IFFCO and ATMA (Agriculture Department) at the Agricultural University on Saturday. He said that the earth is becoming sick due to the use of chemical fertilizers, in view of this problem, agricultural scientists are giving new alternatives to organic fertilizers, in such a situation, if the concept of developed India is to be realized then farmers should adopt organic farming while giving priority to health and quality.
Adopt the concept of Diggy-Pound:
Patel said that farmers should adopt the concept of Diggy Pound in their fields, this will definitely give double benefit to the crop. Addressing the youth, he said that farmers are gradually turning away from farming, in such a situation, they should return to agriculture by taking advantage of new applications in farming and beneficial schemes of the government. Because economic progress of the state and the country is possible only with the prosperity of the farmer.
Agriculture is effective in removing unemployment:
Chairman of the Farmers Commission, CR Choudhary, who was present as a special guest in the program, said that this message of the fair of adopting advanced farming should go to every village and every village. He said that agriculture is the best solution to reduce unemployment. He told the farmers to increase the quality of crops, otherwise the products will not be acceptable on the international market. Today there is a growing demand for organic products in the market, farmers should work on this.
Connect traditional agriculture with modern technologies: Presiding over the programme, Vice Chancellor of Agricultural University, Prof VS Jaitawat said that the country is celebrating the golden age of independence, today there is a need to realize the concept of developed India by connecting traditional agriculture with modern innovations. He said that the university is continuously progressing in the field of research, education and dissemination and this year the university has given gifts to the farmers like Jodhpur cumin-1 variety, mehendi harvesting machine in Sojat, subsidized drone pilot training.
During the program, Additional Director, Agricultural Extension, Dr. GR Matoria and Shailaram Saran, National Minister, Kisan Morcha also addressed the farmers. During this, Yogendra Kumar and Ramniwas Garhwal from IFFCO, Manish Manda from NABARD, Registrar Samdar Singh Bhati, Finance Controller Mevaram Balan, Director Extension Education, Dr. S.R. Kumawat, Associate Director Extension, Dr. M.S. Chandawat and other deans, directors and officers of the university were present on the stage as guests.
Release of various publications: During this, the guests also released souvenirs of the fair and publications prepared by various scientists of the university. In the programme, farmers doing innovation and excellent work in agriculture along with the best stalls were also honoured.
More than 125 stalls showcasing various new technologies: The theme of the fair was kept as “Agriculture developed in Marudhara: Self-reliant India”. During this period, more than 125 government and non-government stalls and exhibitions showcasing startups and equipment were set up in the university campus. This included agricultural startups, demonstration of modern agricultural equipment, technical information to increase income by value addition of various crops, demonstration of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides products, Ayurvedic products, agricultural machinery, and other materials related to agriculture. During this, information related to agriculture run by various government institutions was made available to the people coming to the Kisan Fair.
Visited scientific research areas:
Senior scientists took the farmers present in the fair on a tour of the research area and gave them proper information about advanced seeds and technology. During the fair, various technical sessions were also organized by scientists for the farmers. Director of Extension Education Dr. Seva Ram Kumawat said that about 4000 farmers participated in the fair. He told that financial support was given by Agricultural Produce Market, Jodhpur, Aggregate Coaching and Vishal Engineering.
