A great initiative in the field of education is going to start in the Government PG College of Tonk. Under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, hi-tech smart classrooms will be expanded with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools. The state government has issued a total sanction of Rs 45 crore for this ambitious scheme, in which hi-tech ICT labs will be developed in 35 government colleges and smart classrooms in 153 colleges.
Government PG College, Tonk has specifically received an allocation of Rs 20 lakh under this scheme. This amount will take the academic capacity of the college to new heights and help in providing modern technical education to the students. The College Commissionerate has instructed all the selected institutions to complete the work by March 31, 2026. However, there has been some delay in the tender process, so now the colleges will have to purchase and install the items at their own level. Principal Prof. Lokesh Sharma said that this system will strengthen the infrastructure, empower the students themselves using AI, especially in professional courses like BBA, it will prove to be revolutionary.
Key benefits of this initiative:
AI-based tools will focus on the weaknesses of the students and suggest timely improvements by giving personalized feedback. Students from economically weaker and rural backgrounds will be prepared for global competition, be it startups or IT jobs. Flexible curriculum and digital tools will promote inclusive education, which is expected to reduce the dropout rate. Teachers also agree with this initiative, as it will promote interactive learning.
The building is also getting ready:
Apart from this, the construction work of the new building in the college is in full swing, which will be ready by April 2026. Procurement of smart board, 20 computer sets, table-benches and other related infrastructure for Rs 20 lakh will start this month. All this will be integrated into the new building and will become a major center for interactive learning.
At present many facilities like high-speed Wi-Fi, IT lab are already present in the college, but the new arrangements will further strengthen them. This will give a big boost to modern education as well as vocational education.
This initiative of the Government of Rajasthan is realizing the emphasis of NEP 2020 on digital and technical education, which is a strong step towards brightening the future of the students. This will prove to be a golden opportunity for the youth of Tonk.
