Junagadh. Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi performed Maha Aarti at Bhavnath temple on Wednesday. After this he joined the padyatra and prayed for the state and the country as lakhs of devotees gathered. He honored the saints by offering prasad at Damru pilgrimage site. The grand opening of the Mahashivratri fair took place at the foothills of the holy Girnar mountain in Junagadh. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Harsh Sanghvi performed Maha Aarti with Pandit Indra Bharti Bapu at Bhavnath Temple and took the blessings of Lord Bholenath. He said that this fair of Mahashivratri is a unique confluence of reverence, faith and devotion and this year this fair will prove to be the biggest and memorable event so far. Harsh Sanghvi also took a padyatra with the ministers and joined thousands of saints and sages during their entry into the city. The entire atmosphere became devotional with the chanting of ‘Om Namah Shivay’. He said that getting the opportunity to inaugurate the fair is the good fortune of his life. Lakhs of devotees reached the fair on the very first day, which shows the popularity and devotional spirit of this event.
While talking to the media, he said that about 20 to 25 lakh devotees are likely to come to this fair by February 15. Arrangements have been made on a wide scale by the administration. For the last several days, the ministers and the entire administrative machinery were busy in preparations. Bhandaras have been arranged at various places for the devotees, while special bus services are being run for the convenience of the elderly.
Appreciating the arrangements of the administration, the Deputy CM said that with the blessings of the saints and sages, all the necessary facilities have been ensured. Special arrangements have been made keeping in mind security, traffic, health and hygiene. He prayed that Lord Bholenath bestows his blessings on everyone and paves the way for the progress and welfare of Gujarat and the country. –
