Mumbai, July 23 (). The country’s leading IT company Infosys Limited on Thursday released the results of the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2026-27. The company said that during this period its consolidated net profit declined by 8.6 percent on quarterly basis to Rs 7,775 crore. In the previous January-March quarter, the company’s net profit was Rs 8,509 crore. However, the company’s performance remained strong on an annual basis.
According to the information given in the exchange filing, this time an increase of 12.3 percent was recorded in net profit as compared to Rs 6,921 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year 2026.
At the same time, the company’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 48,211 crore in the April-June quarter, which is 14 percent more than Rs 42,279 crore in the same period a year ago.
Even on a quarterly basis, the company’s revenue registered an increase of 3.9 percent. The company’s revenue in the January-March quarter was Rs 46,402 crore.
During this period, the total expenses of the company also increased to Rs 38,157 crore, whereas it was Rs 33,581 crore in the same period a year ago.
The company announced its quarterly results after the market closed. Before the results, Infosys shares closed at Rs 1,052.90 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) with a slight decline of 0.08 percent or Rs 0.80.
Infosys also announced a major leadership transition during this period. Company Chairman Nandan Nilekani said that the board has appointed Ashish Kumar Dash as CEO designate. He said that Ashish is a leader who has emerged from within the company, who is capable of leading major changes while maintaining the company’s values and customer trust.
Nandan Nilekani also appreciated the leadership of current Managing Director and CEO Salil Parekh for the last 9 years. He said Salil Parekh strengthened the company’s market position, expanded its capabilities, created significant value for shareholders and laid a strong foundation for its Artificial Intelligence (AI) based strategy.
At the same time, Salil Parekh said that it was an honor for him to lead Infosys. He said that during his tenure the company’s annual revenue increased from $10 billion to more than $20 billion. Also, Infosys made its mark as a leading company in digital transformation and prepared a different and strong strategy for AI transformation.
