Tel Aviv, March 29 (). A fire and fear of chemical leakage after an Iranian ballistic missile attack in the Niyot Hovav industrial zone in southern Israel has put security agencies on alert.
According to Israeli media outlet ‘The Times of Israel’, firefighters and rescue teams are working to seal the damaged storage units and bring the situation under control. It is a matter of relief that till now there is no news of any casualty and the employees have been evacuated to safe places. People in the surrounding areas have been advised to stay in their homes and keep the windows closed.
Some pictures and videos have been uploaded on social media in which plumes of black smoke can be seen rising towards the sky. Meanwhile, the IDF has also advised people to exercise caution in view of the current situation and not to go out.
This attack has taken place at a time when tension between Israel and Iran is continuously increasing. There has been direct and indirect conflict between the two countries for a long time, in which areas like Syria, Lebanon and Gaza have played an important role.
The situation has become more sensitive in recent months. Border clashes between Iran-backed organizations such as Hezbollah and Israel have increased, while Israel has adopted a strategy of targeting Iran’s military bases and affiliate networks.
The Niyot Hovav Industrial Zone is a major chemical and industrial hub of Israel, where many hazardous chemicals are produced and stored. In such a situation, attack on this area is considered very sensitive not only from military point of view but also from environmental and civil security point of view.
So far, no major human loss has been confirmed in this incident, but considering the seriousness of the situation, caution is being taken.
