Garhwa. In Jharkhand’s Garhwa district, a police vehicle met with an accident due to the madness of a criminal, in which five policemen including the driver were injured. The incident took place late Tuesday night near Amora gas warehouse in Kharondhi police station area. A warrantee, who was being arrested, suddenly grabbed the steering wheel of the van with the intention of dodging the police and running away, due to which the vehicle went out of control and overturned into a pit, hitting a tree.
According to the information, on the instructions of Shri Banshidhar Nagar DSP, a police team was returning to the police station after arresting Warrant Manoj Paswan from Majhigawan Panchayat. As soon as the police van reached near the gas warehouse near Amrora turn, Manoj Paswan sitting behind suddenly snatched the steering from the hands of driver Rinku Joshi and turned it hard to one side. The aim of the accused was to crash the vehicle so that he could escape taking advantage of the darkness and chaos.
As soon as the steering wheel was turned, the speeding van went out of the driver’s control and the van overturned after hitting a tree. Immediately after the accident, injured warranty Manoj Paswan tried to run away from the spot.
However, injured ASI Sylvester Kachhap and other constables traveling in the van, despite being seriously injured, chased the accused and nabbed him again. A total of five policemen including the constable and the driver have been injured in the accident.
As soon as information about the incident was received, an additional police team reached the spot and took all the injured personnel to the hospital for treatment, while the accused was again taken into custody and sent to the police station. Police are investigating the matter in detail.
